Feedback?

"Lom's Words" has been out for a couple weeks now, and I even garnered an on-air interview w/ Steve Gill on The Steve Gill Show - see www.gillreport.com - last Thursday morning. If you've read the book by now, or heard the interview, please feel free to comment here. I look forward to hearing from you - good, bad or otherwise. Thx. Lom.

I want to add my comments regarding this great book. I gave it to my son in 2006 as part of his high school graduation package from his Mom and me. Before giving it to him, I read it to make certain that it was something that I thought was appropriate; that it had something worthwhile to say and was in keeping with my values. I am no prude; quite the contrary, had quite a wonderful college experience with many good tales of my own to tell. But the college world today is much different than when I was there- many of the same rules apply as then, such as treating a girl like a lady and not like something else. But many laws are different now in regards to drinking, in many instances the colleges are a lot less tolerant of some of the mess we got away with, and there seems to be a higher incidence of mean people out in the world who are looking to take advantage of, or do harm to, a naive college student. But I gave the book to my son with my recommendation to read it and to take to heart the words of wisdom contained therein, and not just read the stories for a laugh. He did so, and has told me many times that he thinks back to some of the stories in the book and has applied the lesson to his particular situation. So far, Lom has been 100% right as to what you should do. I consider this book an indispensible tool to give to your college-bound child, either girl or boy, and it will help them enhance and enjoy (safely) their college experience. It is a great book, worth every penny!
